To Porto Rico Line

The Borinquen (7,114 grt, 429 ft. long) was built in 1930. She had a chequered career,
having also sailed for Bull Lines as the Puerto Rico 1949-53, for Arosa Line as the extensively rebuilt Arosa Star 1954-58,
for Eastern Steamship Lines as the Bahama Star 1959-69 and eventually for Western Steamship Co. as the La Jenelle.
She was wrecked off California in 1970 and scrapped.

The Coamo (7,057 grt, 429 ft. long) was a near-sister of the Borinquen built in 1925.
She became a war loss in 1942 (see the page on her last master, Captain Nels Helgesen).

See this page for photos of the interior of the ships.
