Wien Consolidated Airlines was the result of a 1968 merger between the two main feeder carriers of Alaska, the original Wien Air Alaska (formerly Wien Alaska Airlines) and Northern Consolidated Airlines. A change of name to the old Wien Air Alaska occured in 1973. Recently renamed Wien Airlines, it ceased operations in mid-1984, having just celebrated 60 years of service, according to one of the timetables of that year (if counting the history back to Noel Wien's first air services).
