*

LATI, formed in September 1939, had its origin in the Linee Atlantiche division of Ala Littoria. The service between Italy and Brasil (later extended to Argentina) began in December 1939 and was primarily for mail and express though passengers were also carried. It lasted for two years until it became impossible for LATI to secure fuel due to the war.
