(Ålandslinjen)

Sweden

*

Rederi AB Slite started operations between Åland and Sweden in 1959.
In 1966, Slite together with Rederi Ab Ålandsfärjan and Rederi Ab Solstad
(formerly Rederi Ab Vikinglinjen), Åland, founded the marketing company Vikinglinjen (Viking Line).
In 1993, after the bankruptcy of Rederi AB Slite, Viking Line became wholly-owned by SF Line
(the former Ålandsfärjan), which changed its name to Viking Line in 1995.
