Sold to the Kylsant Group, owners of the White Star Line, in 1928.
She was transferred with her four sisters to Aberdeen & Commonwealth Line.
She was the only ship of the quintet which was sunk in WW2.
As an armed merchant cruiser she escorted a convoy in the North Atlantic in
November 1940 when she was attacked by the German heavy cruiser Admiral Scheer.
Eventually sunk her actions allowed most of the ships in the convoy to escape.
