The President Monroe (9,255 grt, 492 ft. long), was built in 1940. After serving as a troop ship she was returned to
American President Lines after the war for round-the-world service. She was sold in 1965
and ended her days at a scrapper's yard in 1969. Her sister, the President Polk had a similar career.
