SAM - Sociedad Aeronáutica de Medellín

Colombia

*

SAM started as a cargo operator in 1946. Passenger services under the title RAS - Rutas Aéreas SAM (later RAS - Rutas Aéreas de Colombia) were added in 1955. International services were flown in cooperation with KLM, but these were discontinued together with the RAS title, in 1961. After a reorganization in 1962, SAM became an Avianca subsidiary.
