The Moscow route was operated with Ilyushin Il-18s. These troublesome aircraft where newly-delivered and were later to take over the London route. They were returned to the Soviet Union in 1966, after the Ghanaian (and Pan-African) leader Kwame Nkrumah had been overthrown in a coup. |
