Empire Air Lines

formerly
Zimmerly Airlines

USA

Zimmerly Airlines began an intrastate service in Idaho in 1944. Cessnas were used initially with Boeing 247Ds added in 1945. In 1946 Zimmerly was bought by Empire Air Lines and consequently renamed. Empire became a certificated Local Service Operator that same year, using DC-3s from 1948. It was merged into West Coast Airlines in 1952.
