To Standard Fruit and Steamship Co..

It is the Contessa (5,522 grt, 397 ft. long) passing the Morro Castle in Havana.
There is an image of her sister Cefalu (5,228 grt, 397 ft. long) on this page
(from the website of Società Italiana Di Mutua Beneficenza Cefalutana -
A Benevolent Society Organized By Immigrants and Their Descendants From Cefalù, Sicily).
She was slightly different from the Contessa.
The Cefalu was withdrawn in 1958, laid up with several other Standard Fruit vessels
(Gatun, Granada, Atlántida) and sold for scrap two years later.

You may use my images on another website.
Then please credit them as being from the collection of Björn Larsson,
and preferably provide a link to my Introduction page.
Thank you!
