The Frederik VIII (11,850 grt, 544 ft. long), was the flagship of the Scandinavian-American Line's fleet
of four transatlantic steamers. She was in service from 1914. When sold for scrap in 1936 it marked the end of the Line.
From then on, the owners, DFDS - The United Steamship Co., has concentrated, as far as passenger services are concerned,
on North Sea and Scandinavian routes, today under the name of DFDS Seaways.
