To Arnold Bernstein Line.
To Red Star Line.

The Königstein (9,626 grt, 459 ft. long) was built in 1907 for Shaw Savill's New Zealand service.
She was sold to Arnold Bernstein Line in 1928, at first used as an automobile carrier,
but converted to a passenger liner in 1931. Bernstein Line and Bernstein's Red Star Line gradually
became one company towards the late 1930s, hence the star on the funnel.
When Bernstein was forced out of business by the Nazis in the late 1930s,
the Königstein came into Belgian hands as the Gandia. She was sunk by a German submarine in 1942.
