To Old Dominion Line.


The George Washington (5,195 grt, 375 ft. long) was built in 1924. She was sold to Eastern Steamship Lines in 1927. After WW2 service as a troop
transport, she briefly sailed for Alaska Transportation Co. before being sold to France. Having operated as the Gascogne for CGT to the Caribbean and
eventually 1952-55 for Messageries Maritimes in Indochina, she went to the breakers.
