An artits's impression of the Europa (49,746 grt, 941 ft. long) which was launched in 1928, but only sailed on her
maiden voyage in 1930 due to a fire when almost completed. She spent most of World War II idle at Bremerhaven.
After the war she was handed over to France and rebuilt as the Liberté of the French Line.
The first voyage as the Liberté took place in 1950. With the new ship France ready
to come into service, she was sold and broken up in 1962.
