3. Messberg [O] with 1920s-built office buildings Chilehaus to the left and Ballinhaus (later Messberghof) to the right seen from across the Zollkanal.


4. Jungfernstieg [G] at the Binnenalster lake [R].


5. The Binnenalster [R].
Seen beyond Alsterdamm [H] (renamed Ballindamm after WW2), along the eastern shore of the lake, are the towers of St. Jacobi-Kirche [N] and St. Petri-Kirche [M]
and beyond Jungfernstieg [G] are the towers of St. Katharinen-Kirche [P], the Town Hall [K] and St. Nikolai-Kirche [Q].


6. The Aussenalster [S] with the Lombardsbrücke.


7. The Aussenalster [S] with the Uhlenhorster Fährhaus [T]. This popular day trip destination with its large coffee garden was destroyed during WW2.


8. St. Michaelis-Kirche [F] - Hamburg's landmark - and the Bismarck-Denkmal [E].
The monument, erected in honour of German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck and inaugurated in 1906, is approx. 115 ft. (35 m) high.


9. The Alter Elbtunnel [B] and the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken [A].


10. Part of the harbour.


11. The Hamburg-Süd liner Cap Polonio at the Überseebrücke [C] with St. Michaelis-Kirche [F] in the background.


12. The Neuen Elbbrücken with the Freihafenelbbrücke in the background to the right.
