To Hamburg-Süd.

The Cap Arcona (27,560 grt, 676 ft. long) entered service on the route to the east coast of South America in 1927.
During WW2 she was used as an accomodation ship by the German Navy.
In May 1945 she was sunk by the RAF with more than 5,000 casualties.
See this page for more views of the Cap Arcona.

The Cap Polonio (20,576 grt, 662 ft. long) was completed as an auxiliary cruiser in 1915.
She proved unsuccessful and was soon converted to a passenger ship as originally intended.
Taken over by the British, she was sold in 1921 to her former owners, Hamburg-Süd, and placed on the Hamburg-La Plata run from 1922.
With the depression she spent her time either cruising or laid up and was eventually scrapped in 1935.
See this page for another view of the Cap Polonio.
